Alison Baldwin AKA Babar - Unit Leader

Alison has been a member of St Marks congregation since birth, being christened there she has a special affiliation with the church and local community. She joined the St Marks Guiding section as a Brownie in 1987, and progressed through the ranks of Girl Guides & Venture Scouts . When Alison was too old to be a Girl Guide, she returned to the unit as a Young Leader, and then obtained her full Guiding Warrant & Camp Licence. Alison took a break for a few years in the late 90's , and then returned in 2003 and began running the Guide Unit full time from 2005. Since then the guide unit has gone from strength to strength, and now boasts swelling numbers in excess of 40 girls, and a waiting list!

Verity Russell AKA Zippy - Unit Guider

Verity has been involved in a variety of youth groups at St Marks for over 18 years, initially as a Girl Guide at the Unit and later obtained her Service Flash for all her work with the Brownies.

Verity did not stop there and assisted running the Rainbow and Girl Guide Units for 12 years. Verity works as a College Tutor and is studying Sign Language.

Verity is heavily involved in many aspects of St Marks congregation and takes part in many church events outside of the girl guide unit.

Bernie Tobiasiewicz AKA Yoshie - Young Leader

Bernie & her family are involved with a number of Church Organisations in the Community, and members of St Marks for many years.

Bernie was a Girl Guide at the Unit, and has since returned as a Young Leader.

She has a great number of creative skills that she passes on to the Girl Guides and is always up for a new challenge.

If there is a job to be done, Bernie will be at the front of the queue!

 
   
Lucy Davis AKA ScoobyDoo - Assistant Guider

Lucy was a Girl Guide at the unit for over 6 years and wanted to give something back, so returned as a Young Leader.

This year Lucy will complete her Adult Warrant and Camp Licence - quite a challenge!

Lucy is planning to further her education and study Law at University with a view of becoming a solicitor.

Emma Trevett AKA Scrappy Doo - Young Leader

Emma joined the unit 6 years ago as a Girl Guide and enjoyed it so much she decided to come back to us as a Young Leader. Emma has been on a number of camps and is a dab hand at pitching a patrol tent! She is a highly outdoor, sporting person and normally arrives at the Church on her push bike!

She is a great help to the Guide Unit and is always keen to help with any manual labour!

Do you enjoy outdoor activities, getting mucky and generally having fun?

Are you free on Thursday nights?

We are on the lookout for volunteers to help out on evenings and occasional weekend activities.
