Getting mucky is all part of the fun for the 10th Purley Guides. Another favourite adventure of the Girl Guides is Caving. We try to go underground at least once a year.

Under the guidance of leaders from the Wealden Cave & Mine Society, the Guides have explored some of the endless sandstone mines around Godstone and Merstham.

The Guides are led single file through the mines deep beneath the South Downs. As well as the caving and safety skills, caving teaches the guides self confidence and gives them a huge sense of achievement.
