Girl Guides and Camping go together like strawberries and cream. 10th Purley Guides camp at least twice a year. The annual summer camp is the highlight of the year. The Guides sleep together in their patrols, each patrol has its own 8 man ridge tent which they put up and maintain themselves throughout the week.

The Guides perform various camp duties throughout the week, including cooking on open fires and collecting fire wood. It's not all work though, the guides go on day trips to all sorts of interesting places and take part in activities from Climbing to Kayaking and lots in between. Every evening is rounded up with a sing song round the camp fire.

The 10th Purley Guides own all their own camping equipment, and the camps are run by our own warranted, licensed leaders. The annual summer camp is one week, usually in the first week of August and at various sites across the South East. We raise money towards the camp fund throughout the year through the Jumble Sale and other ventures.
